Kikker Wine Farm Branding

Kikker Wine Estate is owned by a Dutch family. The farm has a stream and pond, which attract a large number of frogs. This was the inspiration for naming the farm Kikker, which is the Dutch word for frog. This also happens to be a family favourite amongst reptiles, and the family loves listening to the frog serenade.

The brief was for the logo to include a frog and for the design to be somewhat playful, as the family doesn't take itself too seriously. The labels on the bottles all display varying degrees of displacement, not unlike something that has been cut up and then pasted in different positions on the bottles.

The colours used in this project were selected as they tie in with the colours of grapes and the wines they identify. The logo has been kept clean and minimal, with a circular design around the frog, symbolising friendliness and representing the smoothness of the wines themselves. The difference in the letters that make up the name adds a playful element but is not too casual, as the font used for "Estate Wine" adds a measure of formality to prevent the design from becoming too informal and seeming frivolous.
